SYNOPSYS:
Man on the silver mountain is a short film about young Iranian actor Alireza, who wants to catch a role in a movie adaptation of the famous novel “Father Goriot”. Alireza is trying to make a good test film to send to the director, but his life problems never let him make a test film.

Because of the current conditions, livelihood, the first human need for life, has become a twisted formula. It has blocked the way of breathing life like a blind knot. Expertise has lost its meaning, and everyone has to give up on the most absurd things to survive. One of the useless specialties of this land is art. The real artists are among the poorest people. Therefore, sometimes they look at lucrative jobs and activities and usually become so overwhelmed in the second job while can find their dreams only in the news. In this messy situation, 90% of people never understand what talent or even interest they have. Alireza’s pertinacity in the movie shows our fight with these difficult times, the daily battle in this vicious circle, over and over.

Although hope and victory may seem ridiculous, we people (the men of the Silver Mountain) have only one way, struggle! Alireza is a theater actor who has several experiences in cinema. With a bachelor’s degree in dramatic literature. He is a worker too and sticks wallpaper in people’s homes to make money. He tries to catch a role in a project based on Honoré de Balzac’s “Father Goriot“. He borrows his friend’s handicam and tries to record the role test. Alireza wants to play the role of Eugène de Rastignac. A character whose life is not unlike his own. The problem with old handicam, the problem with the owner of the house, without money, not having a room in the capital city, and the problems of his job as a wallpaper worker force him to test this role in any way. In the end, these problems overcome him. In every moment, Alireza, inspired by the piece “Man on the Silver Mountain” by Ronnie James Dio, continued to fight with the problems. We will see all these happening from the view of the video camera that does not work properly.
