Armando Di Nunzio<\/b>\u00a0Has joined Zigguart Community with his virtuous and precious collection called \u201cFossils From the Future<\/b>\u201d. Armando is an Italian sculptor who lives in\u00a0San Giovanni Teatino<\/b>, a town in the province of\u00a0Chieti<\/b>, in\u00a0Abruzzo<\/b>. His dialogue with art has been open for at least thirty years, when his training course began at the\u00a0State art Institute of Pescara<\/b>, in the Advertising Graphic and Photography section, obtaining the master’s degree of art. The first approaches to manual skills derive from the luck of being born in a family of artisans. A\u00a0carpenter father<\/b>\u00a0and a\u00a0seamstress mother<\/b>\u00a0have left an indelible mark in Armando’s life from which he has drawn strength and determination for his artistic life.<\/p>

The En Plein air painting<\/b>,\u00a0theater<\/b>,\u00a0dance<\/b>,\u00a0photography<\/b>,\u00a0manipulation of clay<\/b>, and the curiosity towards the most different materials have been marked the start of Armando’s journey, with this bizarre torment that is called\u00a0Art<\/b>, slowly leading him to discover the fascination for\u00a0stone sculpture<\/b>. In fact, after several years of self-taught experimentation, and above all thanks to the meeting with master\u00a0Walter Zuccarini<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Emilia Longheu<\/b>, founders of the association\u00a0La Casa per le Arti<\/b>, Armando’s silence turned into a scream. The art of sculpture requires volitional and mostly physical strength. It needs that body-mind presence of the Here-and-Now while, shot after shot when the raw material takes shape in the third dimension!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Armando’s journey into art is research for <\/span>contamination <\/b><\/span>with the most heterogeneous forms of expression that preserve the <\/span>beauty <\/span>and <\/span>truth <\/span>given by the observation of <\/span>Nature<\/b><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Earth<\/b><\/span>, <\/span>Fire<\/b><\/span>, <\/span>Water<\/b><\/span>, and <\/span>Air <\/b><\/span>are the only objects he recognizes, and the rest is relative!\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>With sculpture, I’ve started learning the art of <\/i>removing<\/b><\/i>, <\/i>digging<\/b><\/i>, <\/i>discovering <\/b><\/i>new forms by connecting past, present, and future and to <\/i>reconnect <\/b><\/i>with the planet that I live. The shapes that I find inside the stone come from a distant <\/i>space-time<\/b><\/i>. “Fossils from the future” represent Armando’s inner journey of reality <\/b>and surreality <\/b>in which he finds himself immersed when he creates sinuous and sharp shapes, empty- full <\/b>that evoke ancestral memories and dreamlike visions. In this personal journey with creation, Armando digs deep into the meanders of his existence<\/b>, in relationships with other human beings<\/b>, and the dialogue with Mother of Nature <\/b>to reach the essence beyond the superfluous, to recognize and orient the sense of his direction.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Armando has explained about this project: \u201c<\/span>Everything comes from the Past<\/b>. Now<\/b>, we create to bring everything into the Future<\/b>. The material I work on, which I touch to create my sculptures, reconnects me with the planet I live<\/b>. They speak to me of very distant times in which each of us lived in various forms. The Latin word Fossilis <\/b>means to excavate<\/b>, extract<\/b>, then remove <\/b>to bring to light what is not visible. It is the same process that I live when I’m working with my hands, making manifestation into the hidden form of the stone. When, in the middle of the Present <\/b>time, shot after shot, I take over the testimony of the Past <\/b>and return it transformed into a new life in the Future<\/b>. I feel that my every gesture can live eternally <\/b>imprinted in my creation<\/i>\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

An absolute example of the uniqueness of Armando’s work is incontestable Ascoltami (listen to me)<\/b><\/a>. The artwork designs visually smooth and wavy, in traits sinuous and almost welcoming, but observe it in detail. Its essence is angular and sharp. The white and compact material is the precious white stone of Majella<\/b>, quarried in the mountains of Abruzzo<\/b>. It’s ductile and hard rock at the same time allows exceptional virtuosity<\/b>.\u00a0In Armando’s imagination, he has paid a lot of attention to these dualisms<\/b>, and hence the title, “Ascoltami”(listen to me!). It’s a dialogue between artist and stone, a conversation among form and substance, and long last an interaction between past and future.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

There is also a dualism in this vision. A kind of polarity <\/b>wich looking for a relationship between it what was and what will be<\/b>. The original material that for years has been in the belly of a mountain in a circular vortex<\/b>. Where everything is related to the moment we live, the present.<\/p>

Sculpture requires willpower <\/b>but most of all physical<\/b>, it requires that body-mind<\/b> presence that it imposes on you to be in the here-and-now while shot after shot, you feel and see the form, the third emerges from the raw material dimension.<\/span><\/p>
